After witnessing a murder, sixteen-year-old skater Azar Warren is sent to stay with her estranged grandfather, Stanley Warren, on his rural Victorian compound. But when the bad guys track her down, Azar realises the man charged with protecting her is also a serial murderer of young women.

Ultimately, Azar bests the bad guys - including her own grandfather - and inherits the ghosts of the women he killed.
